The Crystal Pineapple Antiques, LLC opened its doors for business April 15, 2004. Owner Allen Zittrauer had been decorating his own Katy home, but could not find the quality level he wanted in the local area.  After researching the issue, he decided to open his own shop.  Beginning with antiques, accessories, and gift items, the shop has expanded every category and now offers design services, new furniture, custom bedding and drapery, upholstery and reupholstery.

As the youngest member of the sales staff at 19, Allen’s education in the world of furniture, fabrics, and interior design began at Kornmeyer’s in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Completing his business degree at LSU helped him transition to McKay’s Interiors as a designer and buyer, specializing in upholstered goods.  Stoma’s Furniture in Lafayette then hired him to upgrade their store.  Two weeks later, while the Stoma family was on vacation, Allen had the store gutted, repainted, and installed new flooring and custom drapes.  Room settings were now part of the store’s layout.  An addition followed in 8 months to accommodate the number of designers and their libraries of wallpapers, flooring, furniture, and fabrics.  Allen opened the Baton Rouge satellite store 2 years later.   Meredith O’Donnell brought Allen to Houston with the responsibility of opening her North Houston store.

With 35 years of experience, Allen is now firmly established in Katy as the area’s premier high-end shop for interiors, design, and high quality products.  His in store staff, Diane and Patti, are well-versed on all product lines and are happy to answer any and all questions.
